The Executive Officer of the National Service Scheme Hon Osei Assibey Antwi has as called for a concerted effort by institutions to team up to end the kayayei menace.

He made this statement during a ceremony to support the Kumasi-Kejetia Kayayei Center . 

‘’It’s ideal to extend a humanitarian support for the disadvantaged segment of our populace ’’. 

Adding that, we shouldn’t also underestimate the threat of Covid-19, let’s sanitize and maskup,  he cautioned, before receiving the NSS COVID-19 awareness  artwork in appreciation for the office ’s support for deprived girls ,and Covid sensitization.

Hon. Assibey,called on national service personnel to be vanguards, and  ambassadors for the public good  so as to make the country a better place .And punctual at their various posts across the country to benefit the entire populace,he added.

The country director for the Bridgewater Project, Mr Yahaya Alhassan thanked the NSS  for generously fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.  

According to him, for no fault of theirs, they are unfortunately on the street, that’s why it’s imperative for the public to extend support for what he described as ‘hardworking girls’.
